Associated Supermarket Group (ASG), established in 1939 as Queens Food Dealers, was created to support small grocers. After becoming Associated Food Stores in 1954, the group expanded with key openings, including Compare Foods in 1987.
In 2012, ASG was acquired by AUA Private Equity, leading to the addition of Met Food and Pioneer banners in 2014. The company rebranded to Associated Supermarket Group in 2015 and continued to innovate with initiatives like Avenue A and the ASG Supermarket Academy. Today, ASG serves independently owned supermarkets across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions, helping them compete and thrive in a competitive market.
